Book now to bring your class to experience the magic of song, drama, puppetry and storytelling
Recommended for everyone over the age of 7 (Years 3- 6)
Lasts approximately 70 minutes, sung in English
Based on a tale from the Finnish folk epic The Kalevala, Swanhunter is a magical adventure that celebrates the power of song, designed specifically for a family audience – for adults just as much as for children.
For this brand new production, Opera North collaborates for the first time with the acclaimed theatre company The Wrong Crowd to create an inventive fusion of atmospheric music, spellbinding puppetry and live action.
Composed by Jonathan Dove, using a libretto written by Alasdair Middleton, the creative team behind Opera North’s hugely successful The Adventures of Pinocchio, this chamber opera is scored for six singers accompanied by six instrumentalists.
