We are looking forward to over 350 pupils from Ely St Marys, Ely St Johns, Lantern Primary school, Millfield, Littleport Community Primary and Downham Feoffees Primary School attending this event tomorrow. Coach travel funding for the schools coming from Littleport and Little Downham has been provided through a grant from the Cambridgeshire Music HUB. The pupils will be participating in a series of short workshops teaching them and their teachers how to warm up their voices correctly, learning songs from the 2nd World War and will be given the chance to listen to a short recital by the Cathedral Choristers and learn about chorister life. There will be a short performance at the end of the pieces learnt during the workshops. The workshop will be led by Paul Trepte Director of Music at Ely Cathedral and his singing team. All their time has been provided free of charge through the cathedral's education and outreach programme. All are welcome to visit the cathedral and observe the workshop. It is hoped the morning will inspire pupils to join their school choir or Ely Imps, the cathedral children's community choir.
