This annual competition, now in its 14th year, offers the opportunity to hear your work performed by professional musicians and to get individual feedback from composer Ewan Campbell. It is open to anyone aged 18 years and under on 31 August 2019 from Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. All entries will be played at the Finals in Cambridge on Sunday 27 October 2019, 11am-5pm. Winning entries will be performed at a public concert at 7pm that day in West Road Concert Hall, as part of the Cambridge Festival of Ideas. This year the instrumentation to compose for will be a Flute, Cello and Piano. Entries will be performed by members of the Marsyas Trio (http://www.marsyastrio.com/). KEY DATES: Deadline for competition entries: Monday 7 October. Finals, Newnham College, Cambridge: Sunday 27 October 11am-5pm. Winner’s Concert, West Road Concert Hall, Cambridge: Sunday 27 October 7pm. The competition is run by Cambridge Youth Music with support from the Cambs Music Hub and the Cambridge Faculty of Music.
