This competition offers the opportunity to hear your work performed by professional musicians and to get individual feedback from composer Ewan Campbell. It is open to anyone aged 17 years from Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. All entries will be played at regional finals in Cambridge and Snape. Winning entries will be performed at a public concert in West Road Concert Hall, Cambridge as part of the Cambridge Festival of Ideas. This year the instrumentation to be used for entries will be a wind quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn). Entries will be performed by members of the Magnard Ensemble (www.magnardensemble.org). KEY DATES: Monday 1 October – Deadline for competition entries. Saturday 13 October – Regional final, Snape. Sunday 14 October – Regional final, Cambridge. Sunday 28 October – Winner’s concert, Cambridge. The competition is run by Aldeburgh Young Musicians with support from Cambridge Youth Music.
